Organic or Not? Raw Vegan Tips for Choosing Your Fruits & Veggies

Today I’m sharing my raw vegan organic guide — how I personally choose organic vs non-organic fruits as a high raw, mostly fruit-based vegan.

1. Medical Medium Guidelines

When I first started thinking about organic vs non-organic, I followed the Medical Medium method.
Especially when my lovely community member Ms. Valentina asked me about this topic, (Thank you Ms. Valentina💖) I found this. It’s simple, clear, and a beautiful guideline.

I personally don’t follow Medical Medium strictly anymore,
because through my own experience I found a beautiful formula that works best for my body — and I’m sure you can find what works best for you too on this journey.

2. Clean 15 & Dirty Dozen

This list is based in the USA, but I’m sure it works similarly in many countries.

The Clean 15 shows fruits and vegetables with the least pesticide residue, which means non-organic is usually okay.
The Dirty Dozen, on the other hand, shows the fruits and vegetables with the highest pesticide residue, so it’s better to choose organic when possible.

Using this guide, I personally love to choose leafy greens such as spinach and berries organic, For avocados, I usually don’t worry about organic, since the skin is thick and I peel them.This guide is really easy to understand and super useful!

3. Honoring Your Body’s Needs


Would you rather eat a lot of non-organic fruit, or a smaller amount of high-quality organic fruit?
It truly depends on your body and the season.
Some days I love to eat a huge amount of fruit, and other days my body needs much less.
Always listen to your body.

I remember Mr. Markus Rothkranz, one of my favorite role models, saying something like…

If your liver is clean, it can help detoxify pesticides.

For example, I ate almost 10 peaches during fruit picking — they weren’t fully organic, but I truly enjoyed it.
The experience was so fulfilling as a fully raw fruitarian this summer.

So in the end, it’s all about listening to your body and choosing how you want to feel.

4.Follow Your Heart, Joy & Love

Never beat yourself up or think too much. Always follow your heart, joy, and love!

Our Future Plan

The best ideal for the future is: if you find organic fruits, keep the seeds, plant them, and create a small garden that will forever be your fuel.
I personally planted apple seeds, and it’s so fascinating and magical to watch them grow.
Mother Nature is so beautiful.
