Today, I’ll share my personal experience with a 3-day water fast—what it’s like, and how you can do it with elegance and joy. Let’s get started!
Personal Story
Before we jump into the water fasting experience, I would love to share my personal story with you about why I decided to do it.
I became vegan almost 2 and a half years ago and a year ago, I discovered Medical Medium. This was eye-opening because I thought being vegan meant I was already super healthy but this took my health to the next level, and I gradually eliminated certain foods such as sugar, wheat, grains, that I felt like it’s not serving my body, and especially the skin, then I finally completely stopped eating those food then I was wondering, ‘Are there any people who eat like me?’ then I found the raw vegan style.
I became a raw vegan at the end of June this year and a month later, Since I was learning about the raw vegan lifestyle from my favorite role models as you may already know, Mr. Markus Rothkranz, Ms. Cara Brotman, and Mr, Lou Corona, I had this calling and nudging that I heard water fasting is detoxing, cleansing and it is a very spiritual experience. I wanted to try it to feel more spiritual and to connect with my deepest truth so I decided to do 3-day water fasting.
Before The Day
I felt I was craving a bit more fruit like bananas than usual, maybe my body knew I was going to water fast haha but I stopped eating around 3 pm as usual.
Day 1
Since I was very excited, I had quite a lot of energy and spent a day as usual and the great thing was that I was able to get more things done! I actually felt that I had more ideas and inspirations.
Day 2
On day 2 I felt quite dizzy because I had not eaten anything, but I had learned in advance that day 2 or 3 might be the hardest physically or emotionally, so I decided to stay more relaxed during the day and did some stretching, meditated, and visualized more.
Day 3
As I expected, I felt so spiritual! All senses became so clear and I had more crystal clear inspirations and ideas. It is very difficult to express in my words, but you can really feel it from the energy. I felt more connected to my deepest truth and the universe. I love it so much. It was a magical and wonderful experience that I truly recommend.
How I Broke The Fast
Since I was not eating after 3 pm on the day before, I decided to break it at almost the same time. It was summer so I went out and got some fresh fruit and vegetables, I had a watermelon and vegetable smoothie and my body was truly appreciating all the fruit and vegetables more than ever. It was one of the most beautiful moments I’ve ever experienced!
The Result
I personally wanted to let go of negative feelings and be more clear about my life before the fasting and guess what, the negative feelings are gone and I had so much clarity after the fasting.
I believe this is one of the best decisions we can make for ourselves. Fasting is the best if you want to have more energy and clarity, especially for your life vision, mission, and purpose also if you want to cleanse emotionally and mentally, it will absolutely help you.
Fasting makes you more peaceful, calm, and relaxed in life and helps you to stay closer to your beautiful truth.
If you would love to try it for spiritual reasons, I truly highly recommend it. You will able to see more beauty and appreciation around you and it will lead you to be a more true self.
So, these are my personal experiences with 3-day water fasting. Would I love to do it again? Definitely! I would love to try even longer such as 7 days but I usually do Intermittent fasting every day such as I don’t eat from 3 to 5 pm to 8 am almost 16 hours so maybe once or twice a year would be wonderful.
Now, you may have some questions about water fasting and I would love to answer them just from my personal experience.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe?
It is absolutely safe. We are very conditioned to believe that we need to eat 3 meals a day, but this is actually too much for our bodies.
Fasting is the fastest way to heal when you are sick or not feeling well. If you research, especially amazing raw vegan people can even do 7 days to a month. If you are interested, please check out this video.
Do I have to go to a particular place to do it?
It is absolutely up to you. I think you can do it by yourself for up to 7 days, but if the environment pulls you to eat, it might be easier to go to a fasting place to do it.
Do I have to stay still?
Not at all. You may feel more sensitive and vulnerable during the fast, but you can actually have more energy because the body doesn’t have to digest all the food all the time.
For me personally, On the second day, after meditating, I even did a workout as usual and enjoyed it.
You may want to go to bed earlier during this fasting and get a good night’s sleep and rest, but you don’t have to stay still. Please always listen to yourself and your body.
Do I lose weight?
From my personal experience, yes, I feel like I lost some weight because I didn’t eat for 3 days, but I don’t recommend fasting for weight loss because after fasting you might want to eat more than before or I believe even before fasting we need to stop eating animal or processed food first so that you can experience more spirituality. How much water do I need?
I haven’t measured or counted exactly, but I drank an average of 3 liters. Always listen to your body.
What kind of water is recommended?
If you can find nice spring water, I think that’s the best. I drank filtered water. They say it’s always best to avoid water in plastic.
Now, if you are ready to do water fasting to be more elegant and beautiful, I am going to show you 3 steps to follow.
1. Have A Clear Vision and Purpose
To do water fasting with elegance and ease, the most important thing is to have a clear vision and purpose. What results or outcomes would you love to have from the water fasting? Maybe you want to be more clear about your life or detox. For me personally, As I mentioned, I wanted to get rid of negative emotions and feelings and have more clarity in my business. If you are more clear, specific details or the outcome, the results are better. You can always keep a journal for the result you want from the water fasting and always keep the journaling while doing it.
2. Stay Relaxed and Enjoy The Process
Especially on day 2 or day 3, you feel so much hunger but it is just a sensation in your body and as long as you are drinking water, it is completely safe. You can have a sip of water when you feel true hunger. Let’s take a deep breath, relax more, and anticipate the spiritual experience you will soon have.
3. Be Gentle with Yourself
Fasting is not like pushing yourself to endurance, of course, you will be able to develop an elegant discipline mindset but it is a more self-love practice that allows you to connect deeply with your body mind, and spirit.
It’s perfectly okay to do it little by little. You can even start by eating less processed food, try to stop eating before 6 pm, try intermittent fasting, or add more fresh vegetables and fruit to your diet.
I promise you, You will have more energy and vitality. And even if you start water fasting, you don’t have to wait exactly 72 hours to finish. 70 hours is still great, so always listen to your body and stay focused on the outcome you want from the water fasting experience.

Bonus. Input Fasting

In this era, it is so easy to input not only food but also a lot of information from all the digital devices we use almost every day. Input is what makes you YOU.
Instead of water fasting, you can start to gradually stop looking at your phone and practice connecting with your truth, you can always take time just for yourself by journaling, asking lots of questions about yourself and your life, and as I mentioned in step 3, as a preparation for water fasting, you can start to eat less and more fruits and vegetables.

I highly recommend water fasting for you because after you have done this, you will be able to pay attention to what makes you happy and joyful and you will only want to input what’s best for you.
